Purpose at PIMCO

we give. we act. we advocate.

For the fourth year in a row, we are happy to share that PIMCO has been named to The Civic 50, an annual initiative of Points of Light that recognizes the 50 most community-minded companies in the nation. Each year, PIMCO and 49 other companies were honored at Points of Light’s Conference on Volunteering and Service, the largest gathering of volunteer, national service and civic leaders in the world.

PIMCO’s corporate volunteer program is now 12 years old, has evolved greatly the launch the original “PIMCO Partners” in May 2007.

At the beginning, we pursued the familiar hands-on, practical volunteer opportunities. These bite-sized, yet meaningful, engagements paved the way for our expanded program that you see today. In 2009, we incorporated skills-based volunteering via resume review, mock interviews, financial literacy workshops, etc. Then, in 2011 we launched global pro bono programs – followed by our domestic program the PIMCO Pro Bono Corps in Newport Beach and New York. Since then, we have added virtual volunteering, board training and placement, joint opportunities with clients as well as expanded our PIMCO Pro Bono Corps and pro bono offerings globally. This broad spectrum of volunteer initiatives, allow colleagues to engage at any commitment and skill level. Ultimately, meeting colleagues where they are to make maximum impact in our communities.

At PIMCO, we believe in the power of volunteering and the power of philanthropy. By harnessing this power, and in tandem with our nonprofit, private and public sector partners, we can design opportunity and change the narrative. We strive to be innovative, collaborative and determined in our efforts to confront society’s most urgent global challenges. By matching resources and expertise of our employees with our partners around the world – we can become a part of the solution.

We are honored and proud to be named to The Civic 50 for four years in a row.
